Lochgreen Wedding

Hello everyone! 2024 was such an incredible year for weddings, so I thought it was about time to share some more photos of my lovely couples. As we head into 2025, it now marks my 10th year of wedding photography! I’m so grateful to still be doing what I love after all this time. Every single person who chooses me to be a part of your day, thank you so much! It really means the world and it makes me even more determined to give you pictures you’ll treasure for years to come.

For my first blog post of 2025, I thought I would showcase the beautiful wedding of Colette & Mark at the stunning Lochgreen House Hotel in Troon. I’m very fortunate to have this venue on my doorstep as I now live in Troon! It’s quickly becoming one of my favourite venues as you’re completely spoiled inside and out. Colette & Mark’s wedding was in September 2024 and it’s probably one of my favourite months for a wedding now. I do have a soft spot for Spring and Autumn! The light and the colours can be so beautiful and as you’ll see later on, we were spoiled with an incredible sunset to round off the day!

As you arrive at the venue, you’re very quickly blown away by the stunning grounds. I absolutely love greenery, plants, flowers and trees! If I can shoot through one of these at some point during a wedding day, it makes me so happy. You’ll quite often find me miles away shooting through the trees at the entrance of the venue to get this shot! But I love having a wander around, capturing details before heading inside for prep.

As you head inside the building towards the wedding area, you bypass this beautiful painting at Lochgreen. You get such a great view from the top of the staircase!

For prep and the rest of the day (apart from set ups where I need to take a little bit more control/provide guidance to help things run smoothly) I really just want to be a fly on the wall as much as possible, capturing those beautiful moments and details without being too intrusive. My favourite lens is an 85mm and if I can get away with using this for most of the day, I will! It allows me to be a bit further away, meaning I can be a bit more discreet and not breathing down your neck. I cannot tell you how much I love this lens!! I love it so, so much.

The ceremony space at Lochgreen is so beautiful as well. They built the orangery a couple of years ago now and it’s such an incredible addition! The natural light that streams in regardless of the weather is a massive bonus. So elegant and classy!

Colette & Mark’s wedding ceremony was filled with so much love, happiness and smiles! It’s one of my favourite parts of the day for pictures of the two of you and reactions from your loved ones. It’s such a privilege to call this my job! I feel so lucky.

After the ceremony, it was time for group photos, couples photos and mingling with guests! We really lucked out with the weather on the day. It was so mild and so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves!

In-between their wedding speeches, a sunset appeared… we all looked at each other and ran outside! A few minutes was all we had before it started to disappear but we made the most of it. They decided to run through the garden area at the back! It was just such an incredible moment.

Colette & Mark’s wedding day will stay with me forever. Such a lovely couple and all their family and friends were so welcoming as well! You could really feel so much love from them all. Thank you all so much for having me! Wishing you every happiness!

I was also lucky enough to work with some incredible suppliers on their wedding day! A big shout out to Whitney Graham who second shot for me on the day and to Rory from RHB Wedding Films. Always a pleasure to work with!
