Glasgow Cottiers Wedding
In September 2023 just a few weeks before I got married, I had the pleasure of photographing Harry & Eilidh’s wedding in Glasgow! When they initially enquired and said they were getting married at Cottiers, I was so excited. It’s such a beautiful venue with lots of space, yet the lighting inside makes everything feel super intimate. Harry & Eilidh didn’t book morning prep, so I went straight to the venue to capture details, the groomsmen and the guests arrival.
Eilidh then arrived from her childhood home to Cottiers in the most beautiful Cadillac. I love these beautiful moments of her stepping out the car!
We then head into the ceremony, with Eilidh’s sister Cara (same name!!) walking down first as her bridesmaid. The whole day, I really got the sense of how close Eilidh and Cara are as sisters. I’m sure it was a proud moment for her to see her big sister get married!
During the ceremony, Harry’s sister came forward for a reading. It’s a lovely way of including your loved ones into the ceremony and the wedding day as a whole! Before the second half got underway, there was a short break to enjoy music from Allan Young.
Full group shot and confetti time!! Confetti is one of my favourite parts of the day, particularly if you have lots of it! The more the better. You just can’t beat the natural reactions of a couple walking through the madness. Harry & Eilidh smashed it!
We then made our way to Kibble Palace in the Glasgow Botanical Gardens for some couples photos. It was a busy day in Glasgow but we managed to get a quiet spot or two for their couples photos! I was running about like a ninja to angle people out the way but it was so worth it. This would also make such a beautiful ceremony location if you’re thinking of getting married in the west end!
Back to Cottiers to capture more details, the speeches and the evening reception! Harry & Eilidh used pictures of themselves and what age they were at the time as their table numbers. It’s such a cute idea and one of my favourites I’ve seen to date!
What a wedding! I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing and reading about the wedding as much as I enjoyed photographing it! You just can’t beat the lights, the atmosphere, the history and the character of Cottiers. It should definitely be a contender if you’re thinking about getting married in Glasgow. Harry & Eilidh, thank you so much again for letting me be a part of your special day! I had an absolute blast!
